mXDriver 16.11.4 out

This release took some time as I was busy with other things. mXDriver 16.11.4 is based on AMD’s Radeon Crimson 16.11.4  and brings the usual optimizations from AMD (newly supported games and bugfixes). On my dual D700’s it’s working flawlessly. Vulkan support is also included and gives Doom a big fps boost. Please note: Newer versions of the Vulkan API (1.0.26+) don’t work with the Vulkan Stardust Demo although other applications like Doom work great in Vulkan mode.

If you have troubles running a Vulkan application, which ran with mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded (Vulkan API 1.0.21), than it should be sufficient if you replace amdvlk64.dll in C:\Windows\System32 with an older version. mXDriver 16.11.4 comes with version 1.0.26 of amdvlk64.dll, to get version 1.0.21 of amdvlk64.dll you can just use the file from mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded. The file is located in the ZIP-Archive under Packages/Drivers/Display/WT6A_INF/B******/ (the * are placeholders for a sequence numbers which change with every release). mXDriver 16.11.1 based on Crimson 16.11.1 for Windows 8.1 and 10

mXDriver 16.11.1 is based on AMD’s Radeon Crimson 16.11.1  and brings support for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered. It also has bugfixes so I recommend you upgrade.

If you have troubles running a Vulkan application, which ran with mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded (Vulkan API 1.0.21), than it should be sufficient if you replace amdvlk64.dll in C:\Windows\System32 with an older version. mXDriver 16.11.1 comes with version 1.0.26 of amdvlk64.dll, to get version 1.0.21 of amdvlk64.dll you can just use the file from mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded. This version of mXDriver also re-introduces Windows 8.1 (64-Bit) support as it was requested by the community. I don’t have a system to test the Windows 8.1 mXDriver so please give feedback! This release also has support for AMD Radeon HD 6750M and 6970M, please support any problems.

16.10.2 with Battlefield 1 and Vulkan support

mXDriver 16.10.2 is based on AMD’s Radeon Crimson 16.10.2 for Windows 10 (64 Bit) and brings support for Battlefield 1, Civilization VI and several other games. It also brings some bugfixes so I recommend you upgrade. On my dual D700’s it’s working flawlessly. Vulkan support is also included and runs perfectly with Doom. In a non-crossfire configuration I get approx. 30 fps more with Vulkan than with OpenGL 4.5, that’s impressive! What I recognized is that newer versions of the Vulkan API (1.0.26+) don’t work with the Vulkan Stardust Demo although other applications like Doom work great in Vulkan mode.

If you have troubles running a Vulkan application, which ran with mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded (Vulkan API 1.0.21), than it should be sufficient if you replace amdvlk64.dll in C:\Windows\System32 with an older version. mXDriver 16.10.2 comes with version 1.0.26 of amdvlk64.dll, to get version 1.0.21 of amdvlk64.dll you can just use the file from mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded. mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded – with Vulkan support and signed

This is a re-release of mXDriver 16.9.1 with working Vulkan support and it is also signed now. As mXDriver 16.9.2 and 16.10.1 have issues with Vulkan this version is considered the best when it comes to mXDriver’s Vulkan support. As it is signed now you don’t need Testsigning mode anymore.

Adding Vulkan support is a bit tricky because there has to be made many changes especially inside the INF file. In the future I’d like to create a tool which does these changes so you won’t need to download the driver here anymore just the tool. But this will only happen if I have more time, maybe in the holidays.

mXDriver 16.10.1

mXDriver 16.10.1 is based on AMD’s Radeon Crimson 16.10.1 for Windows 10 (64 Bit).

As some had problems with mXDriver 16.9.2 I offer a version WITH Vulkan and one WITHOUT Vulkan support. Getting mXDriver to support Vulkan is currently pretty much work and I hope to reduce the time needed to make the driver support Vulkan in the future.

I am currently not sure what makes 16.9.2 and 16.10.1 not work but 16.9.1 work. AMD seems to have made some modifications starting with Radeon Crimson 16.9.2 visually this is noticeable by the color of the Radeon Settings icon which switched from red to blue. But maybe they made some more modifications which I haven’t recognized yet.

UPDATE: Vulkan seems not to work with release 16.10.1, please use mXDriver 16.9.1 Reloaded instead!
