Updated Crimson 16.3 MXmod

There were problems with specific versions of the D300, D500 and D700. The installation seemed to work but the driver wasn’t properly installed. That should be fixed now. I think there are different hardware revisions of the Dx00s out there which could also cause this problem. As I don’t have the possibility to test D300 and D500 GPUs I need your feedback to improve driver quality.

Please leave a comment if you have any problems or if you have a D300 or D500 and want to beta test the modded drivers before release.

Please KEEP IN MIND INSTALLING AND USING THE DRIVER IS AT YOUR OWN RISK!

  1. Fantastic — that revision fixed the problems — install worked great!

Now, on to getting the Oculus working with it…

    • Glad to hear that! 🙂

Please keep me updated if you have any problems with the driver. Have fun with the Oculus, I don’t own one but think it’s pretty exciting!

  2. Hi,

I’m about to update the drivers on my Mac Pro (late 2013) w/ dual D700, in order to hopefully use the the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift.

Do I still need to use DDU to uninstall any the current driver?

@brent, please let us know how this is working for you with the Rift.

    Cheers!

  3. Hi,

I just tried to install it on my MacPro 2013 which has dual D700’s and the installer failed to install the AMD Device Driver. Is the testsigning mode a must for this version too?

    Thanks!

    • me too, install status: failed , driver can’t install.
      MacPro 2013 late D300

    • Testsigning is a must, too, yes. As long as I don’t have code signing certificate, which is pretty expensive, testsigning mode is needed. Sorry for that.

  4. Great! The installation worked with TESTSIGNING ON. Now can I revert to TESTSIGNING OFF ?

  5. I’m using D500, run the setup.exe but fail, is it relatedto TESTINGMODE ON/OFF? How can I turn on the testing mode if this is the case? Thanks.

  6. Thanks for doing this! Are you going to keep up with updates as AMD pushes out new drivers?

    • Thanks, glad to hear that. 🙂
I will continue with a current release in the next days.
I was on vacation, that created some backlog.
